Individual Giving

Thanks to the generosity of our donors, Madison Opera has played a major role in sustaining the vibrant cultural fabric of our community for over 55 years.  Working with our supporters, we have helped Madison become a place that draws creative, successful people to live and work, contributing to and supporting their community.

We are privileged to offer world-class professional opera productions, as well as engaging education and outreach programs that enhance the art form, provide accessibility to performances, and educate and inspire the next generation of opera-goers.  But we can't do it alone:  we need you.

Ticket sales do not cover the cost of producing opera. Even with a completely sold-out performance, ticket sales cover less than 30% of the cost of putting on opera, a statistic that is true of opera companies nationwide. Our gift to the community, Opera in the Park, requires 100% underwriting so that we can keep it free to all.

Please consider making a fully tax-deductible donation.  Simply click below to donate online, mail a check to Madison Opera, 335 W. Mifflin Street, Madison, WI 53703, or call us at (608) 238-8085.

Thank you!

Why Your Donation Matters
Making a donation to Madison Opera means you’re interested in keeping professional opera thriving in Madison. Whether you are an opera aficionado, an opera newcomer, or just believe in keeping Madison rich with diverse cultural offerings, your donation is the driving force to producing the grand theatrical and musical experience that only opera can provide, whether onstage in the Overture Center for the Arts or in Garner Park for Opera in the Park.

In addition to our artistic and educational value, Madison Opera helps maintain the livelihood of the hundreds of local musicians, artists, and production personnel who bring each performance to life, making us a true artistic and economic force in our area and beyond.

Simply put, without donors, there would be no opera. A gift to Madison Opera is truly a gift returned to our community.
